Missing Pieces to the Mercury Radio Arts Puzzle
- Regarding Entrepreneur's and Small Business Owners
- A Mercury Representative (Entrepreneurial George Washington) who can travel and talk to the Chamber of Commerce groups and Networking Organizations across the country. The primary focal locations would be economically challenged areas like Wilmington, OH where small businesses and entrepreneurs can be taught how to thrive. Having workshops on B to B Networking and giving and receiving referrals is crucial to the small business owner and can be provided by Mercury.
- Mercury needs its own business directory so that we can start organizing like minded, quality businesses. It will provide an online presence that can be a service to the public and, on the back end, a service to the businesses themselves through educational programs that can help train the business owner how to succeed.
- This business directory will also be an additional revenue source for Mercury.
- You need your own Social Network. I created the "e4" Connection which is based on the principles of the "e4" Project and this is an okay starting point. You really need 1 Social network that can combine ALL of your different projects and let people network within those different areas in which they are interested in. Right now though, I think that a revival of the "e4" Project and Enlightenment, Education, Empowerment and Entrepreneurship really captures the people you want to attract to your brand. Use the "e4" Connection or something like it to organize the Glenn Beck fan base and then convert all those people into a greater "Social Network" where you can guide the conversation. I like to say "Baby Steps to Greatness". Don't get me wrong, I am a member of Freedom Works and the Freedom Connection, and it is GREAT, but you need your own network. One that will link with your goals and ideals and one that could also link with the entrepreneurs and the business directory.
- *** I'd like to preface that I'm not thinking about this from a "profit" point of view (although I am definitely a capitalist). When you link all these people together you will be creating the most powerful network of individuals, whom are all working towards the same goals. Think of an entire Social Network that is 100% dedicated towards the revitalization of the country and our economy. THAT is what you are helping create. NEVER FORGET THAT!
- You need an informational summary of all your archived video material. Right now your archived material is worthless to the average viewer. They can't search for a particular topic you were talking about in your episodes. From the below picture, page "4" episodes looks just like the page "1" episodes. With the highlights, you have a basic description, which is great, but with the episodes there is nothing. What you need is an information icon, like I have created for the 01/02/12 air date which will bring up that brief summary of the show.
- For Mobile devices, you need an Android App. About 3 months ago you made a change to your video formatting that caused ALL Android tablets to be unable to access GBTV. Before that change I could access GBTV through the normal web browser on my android tablet. As a result, that change alienated the Android market.
- Apps need to be worked on for Boxee, Playstation and the individual internet TV units. You might have an exclusive agreement with Roku and if that's the case this is irrelevant, but I think the more options the better.
4. Glenn Beck Website
- You need your own "Oprah" book club. You have propelled SOOOOO many books to number one that you now need to create your own book club. Although your book section is great on the website, you have enough recommended books that you could create a weekly show that was just the GBTV Book Club. It's a great idea, think about it.
- On your main page, your topic headings need to be reorganized. See below. Because you have so many things going on (radio show, GBTV, Tour Schedule, Store & 1791 (Which are both really "stores"), Blogs and The Blaze Mag (and that's NOT even including The Blaze), it's kind of a "Nut Cluster" as far as navigating your website. I would make the suggestion that the time has come to combine ALL of your websites and create a central "theme". What is your main "BRAND"? Is it Glenn Beck? Mercury One? GBTV? 1791? The Blaze? Being George Washington? The Glenn Beck Radio Program? WHAT IS IT? I don't mean to seem harsh but you need to unify your message. The following is for Glenn's great team. I know Glenn is extreme ADD and he is going in a million different directions at the same time. He can do that as long as you provide a solid platform from which he can branch out. You need the website to be the "hub" of the wheel which will link to ALL of the different projects. Right now I can go to 6 different website (glennbeck.com, theblaze.com, gbtv.com, beinggeorgewashington.com, 1791.com, mercuryone.com, etc. and there is virtually NO interconnectivity indicating that the "BRAND" is Glenn Beck. When I go to "The Blaze" there is NOTHING (except the universal GoldLine advertising that makes me think it is part of the Glenn Beck Brand. These things need to link.
